Project: Book, “Carnegie Libraries: Restoration and Expansion”

Funded and administered by the State of Illinois Historic Preservation Agency.

The book was written by Lonn Frye, an architect who has done more historic library restorations and expansions than any other architect in the U.S. The aim was to evoke the richness of the materials found in typical historic Carnegie libraries and inspire architects and library administrators to make creative but sensitive decisions when expanding these buildings.
